Program Materials Can Only Be
Purchased by Trained Facilitators |
Facilitator and Parent Materials for The Strengthening Multi-Ethnic Families and Communities Program were developed in 1992, revised in 1994/1999, and updated in 2003. Facilitator Materials were translated into Spanish in 2002 (updated 2004). Parent Materials are now available in 24 languages, with more in process. The Child Activities Supplement (2001) presents activities submitted by facilitators that are indexed by Age, Session and Component area. The Spanish Translation will be available in early 2008. Data collected as part of the Program’s Built-In Evaluation Process was documented in the Monograph: Parenting Styles and Program Impact (2001), and Evaluation Reports produced by SAMSHA (US) and REF (UK) document program impact for different target groups, across multiple sites. The Southwark Refugee Project (UK 2006) presents facilitator and parent comments in Five Promotional Videos (English, Arabic, Somali, Spanish, and French). The English Video includes an interview with Dr. Steele. The Video Diaries (UK 2007) document parent perceptions as they participated in the program. US Promotional Videos are in development. Powerpoint will be released in both the US and the UK in early 2008. |
The Facilitator Session-By-Session Activities Manual
provides step-by-step instructions, including suggested discussion questions, role-play activities, and guidelines that serve to enhance the facilitator's ability to manage the group process.
The Facilitator Curriculum Modelpresents background and theory, organizes the curriculum information into topic areas, and clarifies the relationships of the Five Program Component Areas. Participants also receive aPacket of Overhead and Parent Materials.
