The Training Experience

“I just wanted to say another thank you for the Facilitator Training. It really took some layers off me that I needed to re-examine. I am also feeling part of my community more than I did. I think I really know the meaning of community spirit as I am connecting with other souls that I feel a strong sense of kinship with. Thank you.” (Facilitator Trained in 2004)

Learn Program Concepts

Learn “facilitative” approaches that support parents in integrating concepts within a cultural framework.

The Strengthening Multi-Ethnic Families and Communities:
A Violence Prevention Parent Training Program is a facilitative model and requires that ALL instructors go through an intensive Five-Day (35-Hour) Facilitator Training Workshop.

Each workshop is designed for between 15-24 participants. Individuals can call to register for
one of the scheduled United States or International Facilitator Training Workshops, or organizations can bring the training to their site by paying the Workshop Fee for a minimum of 15 participants, plus travel expenses for the Workshop Leader. . All trainings are conducted either by DR. MARILYN STEELE, the program developer, at $750 per person; or by one of four NATIONAL TRAINERS ($625 per person).
Although most participants have a professional background, identified parents who have completed the parent program are encouraged to take the training and to co-facilitate with more experienced facilitators.
